McCain Gracious in Concession Speach

If future Republicans can learn a little humility and humanity there may be hope for them to become a party that helps their country rather than hurts it.

Third Debate - McCain says "Pull my finger!"

For much of the debate John McCain had the somewhat evil "pull my finger" look on his face. When the moderator asked them about the negative attacks, at first McCain declined to bring up the Ayers and ACORN. After Obama came with the let's just get along on and focused on the damned issues approach McCain changed his mind and lurched forward with Ayers and ACORN. Obama responded the way he always has and easily parried that nonsense.

For his sake, I'm glad he didn't pull McCain's finger. From the look on McCain's face, I'd say he had a few too many with Joe Sixpack last night and had the Budweiser farts.

McCain Suspends Campaign in Political Stunt

When you're loosing in a game what do you do? Change the game... Change the rules... In another attempt to divert attention from his record McCain suspends his campaign to travel back to Washington and allegedly try and fix the economic crisis. Is this supposed to make us all feel better? A man who admits he doesn't understand economics.... A man who can't even look up the price of a share of Goggle on the computer..... What's he going to do? Run the numbers on a slide rule? I don't think this is the guy I want trying to fix the economy if he's as reckless about it as he has been about everything else he's touched lately.

Never let it be said that John McCain is not a player and gamesmen. I'd hate to play cards with the guy.

More Reckless Words from McCain

"The fundamentals of the economy are strong.", he says. Well there is nothing more fundamental to the economy than the financial system, and it's in big trouble. "No bailouts!" says McCain/Palin. Yet these bailouts are possibly the only thing that can save us from another great depression. "I'm for deregulation." McCain says. Deregulation is exactly what got us into this mess. "I'm for regulation that works." he says this week on just another one of his flip-flops. "Will Obama step up and admit some responsibility.", he says with a straight angry face. How can he be serious. McCain has more lobbyists working for than any other candidate. He was part of the Keating 5 and the S&L crisis of the 1990's. "Blah, blah, blah." says McCain who admits he knows nothing about economics. He brings in Palin who scored a D in it in college, so at least she's one step a head of him.

"McCain may not meet with those he considers to be enemies.", the McCain campaign says. Far be it for me to take things out of context, so let's add context to this. Spain! You know the country that has troops in Afghanistan, that has also suffered terrorist attacks, one of our allies.

He really should think things out before he speaks... I know it's out of fashion these days... especially with Republicans like me. We really do need more brains and less brawn in the White House.

Meanwhile the self proclaimed reformers squelch an bi-partisan investigation into Palin's alleged abuse of power in Alaksa. Sound like anything else that's happened in Washington the last 8 years? I'll leave that to the reader to judge.

What Happened to the Vice President?

Our Vice President was conspicuously absent from the Republican convention. What happened to him?

Meanwhile Sarah Palin continues to sling mud at Barack Obama and win supporters. I've listened to her talk at length. She makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. There is only one other person who has that effect on me when they talk. You guessed it Vice President Dick Cheney.

Here's the theory. Cheny's brain was transplanted in this good looking woman's body. That's why he's no where to be found. That explains where she gets her sarcasm, condescending nature, and demeaning tone. Next time you listen to her, just picture Dick Cheny's head on her shoulders. A vote for McCain is truly a vote for four more years of the same in a prettier package. Actually, this woman is such a crackpot conservative, she makes Cheny look like a true blooded liberal. Why is it that most people cannot see this?

Of course the idea that Cheny's brain has been transplanted into Palin's body is fictitous, but the comparission is on target. What's more this story isn't more fictitous than some of misleading the comments that have been coming out of Palin and McCain. I do hope people get a clue.

Reckless John

John McCain is reckless by any measure . He was talking about bombing Iraq shortly after 9/11, and we did. We all know that was a mistake, but let me highlight how it has harmed our national security. It's put us in serious debt to the Chinese. It is a debt which continues to grow and continues to pose a grave threat to national security. Recall what happened to Russia? Nobody kicked their butts. They went broke spending all their money in Afghanistan and trying to keep up with the Star Wars program they thought we were developing. Anyone see any similarity to what we are doing in Iraq? 10 Billion plus a month. Money well spent?

This is part of the reason we have taken our eye of the ball in Afghanistan and Bin Laden roams free. This is part of the reason that we have alienated many our former allies around the world. We spent all the money. Oil company and defense contractor executives have gotten rich off the back of the American people along with the Saudis and the Chinese. There is a finite supply of money, we have less of it now, and we are less secure for it. McCain and Palin want to keep the money flowing out of the National Treasury and into the hands of these thieves. Sound reckless?

McCain has also made tasteless jokes about bombing Iran. The last time he started joking aboug bombing another country it happened and we're still paying for it. Now there is no denying that he will always be a national hero for his suffering in Vietnam. He is an incredibly tough guy and has shown the ability to live through just about anything. They say that if you are dumb you have to be tough to survive, and no one is tought than John McCain. I'm sure he would survive if not thrive during a McCain presidency, but the rest of us might fare to well through it.

Where's the Beef?

After watching the entire Republican Natinoal Convention, I saw or heard nothing about any plans to improve anything for the American people. They patted themselves on the back and patted John McCain and Sara Palin on the back. They have no plan to do anything about the economy. They have no plan to get out of Iraq and get Bin Laden. They have no plans to invest in alternative engergy. Should they get elected the record oil profits and gas prices of today will seem small in four years time.

Trust the McCains?

I was watching Republican National Convention. They played a heartwarming video that detailed how the McCains met. They knew it was love at first sight. He was 41, but lied and told her he was 37. She was 24 and lied and told him she was 27. Heartwarming or scary?

This serves to highlight the point that these are people who will lie to get what they want. Some of the first words they spoke to each other were lies? Are we to expect any different?

In fact we have gotten no different. McCain has flat out lied about Obama raising peoples taxes. He has flat out lied that Obama has no history of reaching across the isle to work in a bipartisan way.
